ServicesEV Charger Installation

EV Charger Installation in Kennedale

Your car should start each day with a full battery and no cords stretched across the garage floor. We size a Level 2 circuit to your panel, plan a clean wire run, handle the permit and show you the finished charger. One person stays your contact throughout.

Faster Charging at Home, Wired the Right Way

Charging from an ordinary 120-volt outlet is slow, often too slow to replace a long commute overnight. Moving to a dedicated 240-volt circuit with a proper charger can refill most daily driving while you sleep. Getting there takes more than mounting a box on the wall. The circuit, breaker and wire all have to match the charger's rating, and your panel has to carry the new load alongside your air conditioning, dryer and range.

We start with the panel and work outward. If there is room, we add the circuit and run it cleanly to where you park. If there isn't, we tell you plainly and lay out the options, from a load management device to a panel upgrade. The same person who looks at your home on the first visit is the one you talk to until the job is cleaned up and the charger is working.

What Your Charger Install Includes

Load calculation
Before choosing a breaker, we total the loads your home runs today and then factor in the charger's draw. The result tells us the right breaker size and whether the existing panel has the headroom for it.
Dedicated 240-volt circuit
A new breaker and copper wire sized for the charger's amperage, with no other outlets sharing the line. Undersized wire is one of the most common faults we see in rushed installs, so we size it for the full continuous load.
Hardwired unit or plug-in outlet
We can hardwire a wall connector or install a heavy-duty 14-50 outlet for a plug-in charger. We explain the trade-offs in cost, flexibility and protection so you can choose.
A tidy route for the wire
Inside a finished garage we fish wire through walls where we can. Where it has to run on the surface, we use straight, secured conduit that sits neatly against the wall.
Outdoor and driveway mounting
For a charger outside, we use weather-rated boxes, fittings and sealed penetrations so rain and dust stay out of the connections.
Permit, inspection and a walkthrough
We pull the permit and schedule the inspection as your local jurisdiction requires. Before we leave, we show you the breaker, the charger settings and how to reset it.

Signs It's Time for a Proper Charger Circuit

  • Overnight charging falls short

If the cord that came with your car can't refill what you drove that day, a Level 2 circuit closes the gap.

  • A warm plug or outlet

Hours of charging on an ordinary outlet can heat the receptacle and the wire behind it. A plug that feels warm or looks discolored should stop being used for charging until it is checked.

  • Extension cords in the garage

Cords running from the wall to the car are a short-term fix that wears out quickly under a constant load.

  • Another electric car coming home

Adding a second EV raises the load on your panel. Sizing both circuits in one visit, or choosing chargers that share power, avoids paying for a second round of work later.

  • Breakers trip during charging

If charging trips a breaker when the AC or dryer is running, the circuit or the panel is near its limit and needs a look before you add more.

How the Work Goes, From First Call to Final Check

  1. 1

    Service visit and panel review

We look at your panel, measure the distance to where you park and talk through the charger you have or plan to buy. You get a written scope that says what we will do and what it covers.

  2. 2

    Permit and scheduling

We file the permit where it's required and set an install day that suits you. If your utility needs to be notified or involved, we coordinate that too.

  3. 3

    Install day

We shut off power only for the stretch of time we need, set the breaker, run and secure the wire, and mount the charger or outlet. Floors are covered where we work, and many installs finish in a single day when the panel has room.

  4. 4

    Testing and inspection

We test voltage and the charger's first session with your car connected. The inspector signs off, and we clear away every scrap of wire and packaging.

What Moves the Cost of an EV Charger Install

Most of the price comes from the distance between your panel and your car, and from what your panel can handle today. We look at both on the service visit and put each item in writing before work starts. If something changes once a wall is open, you hear about it from us before we go further.

Panel capacity
When your panel has empty breaker slots and headroom to spare, the install stays straightforward. If it's already full or undersized, a load management device or a panel upgrade may have to come first.
Length and path of the wire run
A garage that shares a wall with the panel takes far less wire and labor than a run across the house, through an attic or out to a detached spot. Attic runs in a Texas summer also take more time to do carefully.
Charger amperage and type
A higher-amp charger needs a larger breaker and heavier wire. Hardwired units and plug-in outlets also differ in parts and protection requirements.
Indoor or outdoor location
Outdoor mounting adds weather-rated hardware and sealing, and sometimes trenching or longer conduit.
Permit requirements
What the city charges for the permit and inspection differs from one place to the next. That cost shows up as its own line in your written scope, so you see it before you agree to anything.

EV Charger Questions We Hear Most

Something not covered here? (682) 357-4925

Can you install a charger in my garage if my panel is older?

Often, yes. Age matters less than capacity and condition, so we check both on the service visit. If the panel can't safely carry a charger, we explain why and walk you through a load management device or a panel upgrade.

Should I buy the charger first?

You can, but it helps to talk with us before you order. The charger's amperage sets the breaker and wire size, and some units suit a plug-in outlet better than hardwiring. We can install one you already own or help you pick one that fits your panel.

Do you pull the permit for an EV charger?

Yes. We handle the permit and the inspection as your local jurisdiction requires, and we're there to meet the inspector so you don't have to manage it.

Is a 14-50 outlet or a hardwired charger better?

A hardwired unit is a tidier, more permanent connection and allows some chargers to run at higher power. An outlet makes it easy to swap or take the charger with you. We lay out both for your setup and let you decide.

Can I charge two cars on one panel?

In many homes, yes, using two circuits or a pair of chargers that share power between them. The load calculation tells us which approach your panel can support, and we plan it so adding the second car later is simple.
